The FLAT is run by volunteers. These include volunteers who help people during shop hours, mechanics, and collective members.
Interested in Volunteering?
Being a volunteer at the FLAT is an opportunity to gain lots of hands-on experience with bikes. Whether you have a lot, or no experience, everyone has something to offer. If you are just beginning to learn about bikes, we encourage you to attend our Wednesday night workshops (see “workshops”) and/or ask our more experienced volunteers for training on the basics before your first shift.
If you are available to work as a volunteer for any of our 3-hour shifts (see “hours”) please e-mail our volunteer coordinators with your availability, contact information, and skill-level. No experience necessary! Orientations are provided to help you get comfortable with the space and make sure the volunteers are all on the same page, contact us to see when the next orientation is.
Volunteer Coordinators can be contacted at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Interested in being part of the Collective?
The collective meets on the first Wednesday of every month at The Flat. Anyone is welcome to attend and help with the work and decisions that keep the FLAT rolling. The meetings are run according to a consensus decision-making process. Please e-mail the Flat (email@example.com) for info on the next meeting.
We will be more likely to respond to any questions or comments you have if you e-mail or message us on Facebook, instead of leaving a comment on our site.
